Designer - Add \ Edit ProjectDesigner – Add \ Edit Project

The Add \ Edit Project area and its subsections allow you to control how IDpack behaves for a specific project. Understanding each section is essential to properly configure both Designer and Producer. When creating a new project, additional tabs and options become available after the project is saved.

All badge design and project configuration are handled in Designer. Once the project is ready and activated, badge printing is performed in Producer.

Toolbar

  • Add Project Create a new project
  • Move to Active Mark the project as active to allow printing in Producer
  • Move to Trash Remove the project from general access while keeping it available to Administrators
  • Import Records Import records from CSV, Excel, Access, Google Sheets, and similar formats
  • Export Records Export records in XLSX, CSV, or XML formats. Photo IDs can be exported using XML or XLSX
  • Copy Records Copy records to another project.
  • Import Photo ID Import Photo IDs using ZIP files matched by record identifier. Available upon request
  • Open in Producer Open the project directly in Producer
  • Save Project Save the project to the cloud

Status

By default, new projects are Inactive, which means they do not appear in Producer until they are ready for printing.

New Active Inactive Trash
New projects are available in Producer for Administrators and users with Producer privileges per project. Active projects are visible in Producer for Administrators and users with Producer privileges per project. Inactive projects are hidden in Producer but remain accessible in Designer for users with design privileges. Trash projects are hidden in Producer and visible only to Administrators in Designer.

  • Project Name Enter a name for the project
  • Badge Format Automatically determined by the selected design. Supports CR80, 4×6, and wristbands
  • Printer Model Select a printer model to enable features and recommendations based on printer capabilities
  • Dual Side Printing
    • No Single side printing only
    • Yes Print on both sides with automatic card flipping
    • Blank Back Insert a blank back page to control printer behavior
    • Duplicate Front to Back Copy the front design to the back
  • Front Orientation Portrait or Landscape
  • Back Orientation Portrait or Landscape
  • Photo ID Format Rectangle (4:5), Square (1:1), Round (1:1)
  • Color Coding Optional categorization system used in Producer to visually group records
  • Capture Electronic Signature Enable electronic signature capture using a supported signature pad
  • Contactless Card Reader Support for RFID cards using keyboard wedge emulation with JSON output
  • AI Photo ID Background Removal Remove Photo ID backgrounds automatically or manually. Tokens apply
  • Auto Save Record Automatically save records after inactivity. Enabled by default

Badge Preview

This preview shows how the badge will appear when printed. Dynamic fields update based on record data entered in Producer, and the Photo ID changes for each record.

Delete Project

Only users with Administrator roles can permanently delete a project. Select a project from the Project List and move it to Trash. Once the project is in Trash, scroll to the bottom of the screen and click Delete.

WARNING This action is permanent. Deleting a project removes all related data including designs, records, activity logs, and Photo IDs. For security and auditing purposes, it is strongly recommended to keep unused projects in Trash rather than deleting them. Deleted projects cannot be restored.
