The Add \ Edit Project area and its subsections allow you to control how IDpack behaves for a specific project. Understanding each section is essential to properly configure both Designer and Producer. When creating a new project, additional tabs and options become available after the project is saved.
All badge design and project configuration are handled in Designer. Once the project is ready and activated, badge printing is performed in Producer.
Tabs
- Project List Manage all projects in the organization.
- Edit Project Main area used to configure the selected project. The current Project Name is displayed in the tab.
- Producer Setup Options and settings related to Producer
- Field Definition Define all fields required for the project
- Color Code Categorize records in Producer using colors and descriptions
- Front Back Design Configure badge designs including text, dynamic fields, barcodes, and images
- Import Records Import records into the project
- Export Records Export records from the project
- Checkpoint Setup Configure QR code based features available in IDpack

Toolbar
- Add Project – Create a new project.
- Clone Project – Create a new project by cloning the selected project.
- Move to Active – Mark the project as active to allow printing in Producer.
- Move to Trash – Move the project to the trash. Trashed projects are hidden from general access but remain available to Administrators.
- Import Records – Import records from CSV, Excel, Access, Google Sheets, and similar formats.
- Export Records – Export records in XLSX, CSV, or XML formats. Photo IDs can be exported using XML or XLSX.
- Copy Records – Copy records to another project.
- Import Photo ID – Import Photo IDs using ZIP files matched by record identifier. Available upon request.
- Open in Producer – Open the project directly in Producer.
- Save Project – Save the project to the cloud.
- Help Center – Open this documentation page.
Status
By default, new projects are Inactive, which means they do not appear in Producer until they are ready for printing.

Project Settings
- Project Name – Enter a name for the project.
- Badge Format – Automatically determined by the selected design. Supports CR80, 4×6, wristbands, and many other formats.
- Printer Model – Select a printer model to enable features and recommendations based on printer capabilities.
- Dual-Side Printing – Enable double-sided printing, insert a blank back, or clone the front design to the back.
- UV Panel Printing – Enable UV panel printing on the front, back, or both sides when supported by the selected printer.
- Front Orientation – Select the front side orientation: Horizontal or Vertical.
- Back Orientation – Select the back side orientation: Horizontal or Vertical.
- Color Coding – Enable an optional categorization system used in Producer to visually group records.
- Photo ID Format – Select the Photo ID shape: Rectangle (4:5), Square (1:1), Round (1:1), None, or Custom Size.
- Photo ID Face Guide Overlay – Display a face guide overlay when capturing or cropping Photo IDs.
- Auto-Save Record – Automatically save records after inactivity.
- Photo ID Background Removal – Remove Photo ID backgrounds automatically or manually. A background color can be configured; transparent is used by default. Tokens apply.
- Capture Signature – Enable electronic signature capture using a supported signature pad.
- Contactless Card Reader – Support RFID cards using keyboard wedge emulation with JSON output.
Advanced Print Settings
- Rotate Back Side 180° – Enable this option if the back side prints upside down when using double-sided printing.
- Rasterize PDF – Converts vectors to a bitmap before printing. Locks the layout, flattens transparency, disables batch printing, and makes print preview much slower. Available when UV Panel Printing is enabled.
- Gamma Front – Adjust the gamma level for the front side of the printed badge. Available when Rasterize PDF is enabled.
- Gamma Back – Adjust the gamma level for the back side of the printed badge. Available when Rasterize PDF is enabled.
- Force MS Arial Unicode Font – Enable only for Asian, Arabic, Hebrew, and other languages not supported by Regular Arial.
Badge Preview
This preview shows how the badge will appear when printed. Dynamic fields update based on record data entered in Producer, and the Photo ID changes for each record.
Delete Project

Only users with Administrator roles can permanently delete a project. Select a project from the Project List and move it to Trash. Once the project is in Trash, scroll to the bottom of the screen and click Delete.
WARNING This action is permanent. Deleting a project removes all related data including designs, records, activity logs, and Photo IDs. For security and auditing purposes, it is strongly recommended to keep unused projects in Trash rather than deleting them. Deleted projects cannot be restored.
