We’re pleased to announce the release of IDpack version 3.6, a major update focused on performance, control, and usability. This version includes direct AWS integration, a new Developer role, faster project management, and many under-the-hood improvements. Some features are only available based on the plan you have selected.

Let’s dive into what’s new!

Connect Directly to Your AWS Infrastructure

The headline feature of version 3.6 is a groundbreaking new capability for our Producer section. You can now connect IDpack directly to your own Amazon Web Services (AWS) RDS (MySQL) database and S3 bucket.

What does this mean for you?

  • Total Data Ownership: Store all cardholder records, photos, and signatures within your own cloud infrastructure.
  • Enhanced Security: Adhere to your organization’s specific data security and compliance policies by keeping sensitive information under your direct control.
  • Seamless Integration: Integrate IDpack seamlessly with your existing cloud ecosystem.

This is a massive step forward for organizations that require full ownership and control over their data infrastructure.

A Faster, More Intuitive User Experience

We’ve dedicated significant effort to making your day-to-day work in IDpack smoother and more responsive.

  • Massive Speed Improvements: We’ve optimized our code and fine-tuned SQL queries, resulting in a noticeably faster and more fluid experience across the entire platform.
  • Redesigned Dashboard: The Dashboard has been reorganized to logically match the structure of other sections, making navigation more intuitive from the moment you log in.
  • Streamlined Navigation: The top bar has been updated for a cleaner look and faster performance. The user thumbnail is now neatly tucked into the dropdown menu, and we’ve embedded SVG icons, which means they load almost instantly.

Powerful New Tools for Administrators and Developers

Managing users and projects, especially at scale, is now dramatically easier.

  • New Developer Role: We’ve added a dedicated Developer role in the User Manager. This role provides access to the Template Editor, Project Manager, Producer, Developer, and Report sections, creating a perfect workflow for your technical team members.
  • Lightning-Fast Project Access Management: For accounts with hundreds of projects, we’ve overhauled how project access is managed. Permissions are now assigned on a per-user basis, making the process incredibly fast and efficient.

Enhanced Reporting and Internationalization

  • Modernized Analytics: Both IDpack Analytics and the Reports section now feature a modern, more flexible charting library. Your data will not only look better but will also be easier to interpret with these new visualizations.
  • Bonjour à nos utilisateurs francophones! We have expanded our French translations to cover more of the platform. Additionally, the language selector on the homepage has been fixed, allowing you to switch between English and French before you even log in.

Looking Ahead: What’s Next on Our 2025 Roadmap?

The 3.6 release is a huge step, but we’re not stopping here. We are already hard at work on the next wave of innovations for IDpack. Here’s a sneak peek at what you can expect later this year:

  • The All-New Designer Section: We’re combining the Template Editor and Project Manager into a single, streamlined section called Designer. This will bring all your design and project management tools together in one place, creating a more cohesive and efficient workflow.
  • Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): To add an extra layer of security to your account, we will be introducing optional 2FA. You’ll be able to secure your login using a code sent via email or SMS.
  • Complete French Translation: Building on the progress in this release, we will fully translate all remaining content and interface elements to provide a complete experience for our French-speaking community.
  • Self-Service Registration: The Registration section will be enhanced to allow you to send email or SMS invitations for people to register themselves directly in IDpack, saving you time and streamlining your onboarding process.

We are incredibly proud of the 3.6 release and believe these changes will provide immense value to all our users. Thank you for your continued feedback, which is essential to making IDpack better with every update.
