After 6 years of offering IDpack Starter as a free plan, we are discontinuing it on July 1, 2026. Running a free tier means carrying the same infrastructure, security, and support costs as any paid plan, and as IDpack has grown and matured, particularly with the launch of v4, those costs have grown with it. This change allows us to focus our resources on what matters most: continuing to improve IDpack and delivering reliable service to our customers.
If you are currently using IDpack Starter, we recommend IDpack Element as an affordable replacement. It offers more flexibility with up to 10 project designs and up to 600 records, making it a great fit for small teams and organizations that want to keep using IDpack.
What is changing?
IDpack Starter will be discontinued on July 1, 2026. After this date, an active paid subscription will be required to continue using IDpack.
Who is affected?
Only organizations currently on the free IDpack Starter plan are affected. Paid subscribers are not impacted in any way.
Will my data be deleted?
Your data will not be deleted when the Starter plan is discontinued. However, you will need an active paid subscription to continue accessing and using IDpack after July 1, 2026. We recommend upgrading before the deadline to avoid any interruption.
Why is this change happening?
As IDpack has evolved, especially with the significant improvements in v4, the infrastructure, security, and support required to maintain it have grown considerably. A free plan carries the same operational weight as a paid one, and sustaining that without a path to revenue isn’t something we can continue long-term. We held on to Starter for as long as we could, and we’re grateful to everyone who used it to discover IDpack.
What should I do?
Upgrade your organization to a paid subscription before July 1, 2026. For most Starter users, IDpack Element is the recommended option. If you’re unsure which plan fits your needs, don’t hesitate to reach out, we’re happy to help you find the right fit.
